CABIN BAG SIZE GUIDE

NOTE: Prior to travel, please check that your bag will correspond with any current size requirements, as different airlines have different restrictions.

Always check with your airline or airport if unsure. Hand baggage (cabin baggage) is luggage that you carry on the plane with you, while hold baggage is luggage that you check-in. All baggage items, including hand baggage, must be screened, regardless of size.

From 29 April 2010, the Department for Transport no longer sets a maximum size for items of hand baggage. You should always check size limits with your airline and airport before you travel. Airlines may also have their own rules about the number of bags you are allowed to take on the aircraft.

There are currently increased security measures in place at all UK airports, with strict rules on what you can and can't carry in your hand baggage. It is important to pack with this in mind to avoid unnecessary delays at airport security.

You can also check with your local government website for the most up-to-date guidelines, typically within the 'air travel hand baggage rules' section.
